Nollywood actress, Funke Akinkele took to social media to honor her late mother, who passed away two years ago.
In a heartfelt post, the movie producer expressed her deep longing and grief, still feeling the loss intensely.
On the 7th of February, 2023, Funke Akindele and her siblings lost their mother. The siblings reported her death on Instagram, submitting to God’s will.
In remembrance of their mother, they took to their respective social media pages to share sweet memories they had of their mother.
She wrote;
“It’s been two years since you left us, yet it still feels like a dream. I miss you so much, my darling mother. Keep resting in peace!”
On her Instagram page, Olubunmi Akindele praised her mother’s sacrifices, devotion, and hard work for her kids.
She recalled how their mother lost her own parent when she was thirteen, but with the wisdom to raise her four kids, and
she prayed that her legacy of kindness, love, and strength would endure through her kids and future generations.

It still hurts, and YES, I cry sometimes. But through the pain, gratitude shines brighter.
You lost your own mother at 13, yet God gave you the strength to raise US with love, wisdom, and sacrifice.
And for that, I’m thankful.
Some never got to know their mothers, but WE had you-fully, fiercely, beautifully.
May your legacy of love, strength, and kindness continue to live through US and generations to come in Jesus’ mighty name Amen.
